Puyuan transforms into a Southern Song Dynasty haven

The best-selling book Tiaozhan Guren Yibaitian(translated as"Living the Life of Ancients for 100 Days")by the author Yunjia vividly portrays various facets of life during the Southern Song period(960-1279), encompassing dietary customs, social dynamics and celebratory traditions.

Recently, Puyuan, a water town boasting antique structures located in Tongxiang city, Zhejiang province in East China, has become the real-world stage for this literary work to be brought to life. From June 28 to Aug 31, the ancient lifestyle depicted in the book will be meticulously recreated within the picturesque setting of Puyuan.

Upon entering the scenic area, tourists are whisked away into the rich world depicted in the book. Equipped with maps, they embark on a journey to unravel the daily routines of ancient inhabitants. Each visitor assumes an ancient persona upon arrival, delving into clue-finding and diverse challenges.

Immersive activities and firsthand experiences bring the cultural tapestry of the book to life. Attired in authentic Song Dynasty garments, all staff members serve as NPCs(non-player characters), enriching visitors'encounters with a truly immersive adventure. This initiative not only showcases the literary work but also elevates tourists'cultural immersion and active engagement.
